Connect Zoho CRM
Send every lead the assistant captures to your Zoho CRM, with the conversation summary.
Who can do it and what you need
Only an owner or admin of your business can connect integrations. If you do not see Integrations in Settings, ask one of them to do it.
You need a Zoho CRM account with permission to create leads (or contacts) and notes. Sign in with your own Zoho user, because records are created with that access.
Steps
- Open Settings and go to the Integrations tab.
- On the Zoho CRM card, choose Connect. If it says Available soon instead, see the troubleshooting section below.
- Sign in to Zoho if asked and review the permissions. Choose Accept.
- Zoho sends you back to ISSA with a message that the connection is ready. Under Lead settings, in Save leads as, pick Leads or Contacts.
- Enter the Lead source (shown in Zoho on every record) and, if you want, the Owner ID (optional); leave it empty to use the account default owner.
- In the Field map, enter the Zoho API name that receives each detail: Customer name, Phone, What they asked about and Source. Choose Save settings.
- Choose Test connection. ISSA creates and deletes a test record; you should see Connection works.
What permissions are granted and why
- Leads and Contacts: create and update the lead or contact the assistant captures.
- Notes: add a note with the conversation summary to the record.
- Users (read only): recognize the users in your Zoho, for example to assign the owner.
- Ongoing access: so leads keep flowing without you signing in again. ISSA does not delete your records.
What ISSA sends to Zoho
For each lead: name, full WhatsApp phone number, what they asked about and the source you set, in the fields of your map.
It also adds an "ISSA assistant" note with the interest, notes, a link to the conversation in ISSA and the most recent messages of the conversation (customer, assistant and team).
How to remove access
In ISSA: in Settings, Integrations, choose Disconnect on the Zoho CRM card and confirm. New leads stop being sent and ISSA revokes the access; what was already sent stays in Zoho.
To make sure from Zoho, open https://accounts.zoho.com/home#sessions/userconnectedapps and remove ISSA from the connected apps.
If something does not work
- It says Available soon: the integration is still being set up on our side. Check back later or contact us.
- You see a failed connection or an expired link (invalid_state): start again from the same browser, signed in to ISSA with the same user.
- The status says Needs attention: Zoho no longer accepts the saved access. Choose Reconnect; leads captured meanwhile are sent afterwards.
- Test connection fails with Company: in many Zoho accounts that field is required. Map a field to it in the Field map or make it optional in Zoho.
- You see duplicates: ISSA looks up the phone before creating a record. If the same customer has the number in another format in Zoho, it is not recognized; make the phone format consistent.
